Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rose water
  • 1/2 Tbsp Vegetable glycerin
  • 1/3 cup Rose infused oil
  • 3 Tbsp Babassu oil
  • 1 Tbsp Shea Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Emulsifying wax
  • 70 drops preservative
  • 30 drops of Vitamin E oil
  • 25 drop of Rose Absolute Essential oil
  • 1 tsp pink mica (optional)

Instructions

  •  In a mixing bowl, add the rose water and the vegetable glycerin.
  • Measure out the the rose infused oil, babassu oil, shea butter and wax emulsifier. Gently heat these in your double boiler until it is all melted. Remove from the heat.
  •  Use your immersion blender to blend the rose water and glycerin. While the blender is running, slowly add the warm melted oils. Blend continuously until the lotion is completely combined and a homogenous emulsion has formed. The lotion should be thick and creamy. This blending process will take about 3-5 minutes.
  • Blend in the mica powder if you’ve decided to add colorant to your lotion. This step is completely optional. Without colorant, the lotion will be white.
  • Use your digital thermometer and check the temperature of the lotion. When the ingredients are below 140 degrees, add the preservative, vitamin e oil and the rose essential oil. Blend for an additional minute.
  •  When the lotion has completely cooled, transfer it to storage containers of your choosing. You can use something as simple as a mason jar or pump containers.
