Lavender Body Butter

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Shea Butter
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa Butter
  • 1/4 cup Coconut Oil
  • 10-30 drops of Lavender Essential Oil

Instructions

  • Melt the cocoa butter, coconut oil and shea butter together, then mix in the lavender essential oil. Be careful that no water spills into the bowl and always be careful when handling hot bowls and pots.
  • Gently whisk to help along the process. Stir the essential oil fat mixture.
  • Then, place it in the freezer to harden (either in a mixer bowl or a bowl you can use hand beaters in) for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Take the bowl out of the freezer and whip with a hand-held mixer until white and double in size. At this point you have DIY lavender body butter.

Shelf life and storage
How long will homemade long will homemade lavender body butter last? Store the body butter in at room temperature, away from heat, moisture and direct sunlight. Both products have a shelf life of 8 months.
