DIY Castile Soap Face Wash { Natural face wash recipe)

One of the main reasons why I started making my own face wash was to avoid any harsh chemicals you might find in store-bought and save some money. I was making gift baskets for my family and friends last Christmas filled with useful things I had made myself. I decided to try out face wash making, and I was hooked!

A homemade face wash that is moisturizing and natural is simple to make. Also, DIY face wash saves money and is great for gift giving.

The face wash is a bath product I use every day, and I wanted to create an easy, effective, and natural DIY foaming face wash with castile soap. My goal was to develop a homemade face wash that performs just as well as commercial ones – but made with better ingredients.

This DIY castile soap face wash recipe is easy to make, you’ll only need to buy a couple of ingredients and supplies to make a batch that could last you several months. It’s also a really quick process and feels like store-bought face wash! This is the best natural face wash recipe you’ll ever try!

Homemade Lavender Face Wash with Castile Soap

I tested this DIY castile soap face wash recipe half a dozen times to get the right lather and texture, and the following ingredients are key:

Coconut milk: It’s not just for pina Coladas—coconut milk is great for the skin and hair. Coconut milk has high levels of Vitamin C, which helps maintain the elasticity and flexibility of the skin. The fatty acids present in the milk will dissolve the stubborn makeup along with nourishing the skin.

Castile soap: is a gentle cleanser that helps to remove dirt, grime, and make-up without stripping the skin.

Coconut oil is one of the best natural sources of healthy fatty acids, antioxidants, and other phytochemicals (plant-based chemicals). Using coconut oil on the skin can help treat and prevent dry skin.

Vitamin E oil: Vitamin E is high in antioxidants, and it affects blood circulation. It can help soften skin and help protect your skin’s moisture barrier.

A preservative is a must in this water-based body wash to avoid mold, yeast, and bacteria. I used Germall Plus Natural Preservative, which is a natural, broadspectrum preservative. See below for more info and places to buy.

Vegetable Glycerin:  cleanses the skin without clogging pores, smooths the look of fine lines and minuscule cracks on the skin, and facilitates the regeneration of new skin.

Essential oils: can be used to scent the DIY shower gel and impart additional skincare benefits. Below are a few ideas for homemade body wash with essential oils.

Can You Use Castile Soap to Wash Your Face

Castile soap is all-natural, and it’s made out of gentle ingredients. It’s the perfect soap base for making homemade face wash.

Can You Mix Essential Oils with Castile Soap

Castile Soap is a gentle, natural soap made from vegetable oils. It is much gentler than most soaps because it contains no chemicals or harsh detergents.

Castile soap offers a wide variety of benefits that you don’t want to miss out on. For example, this natural health product won’t dry out the skin like other soaps will do because it contains olive oil and coconut oil, which moisturize the skin.

You can mix castile soap with essential oils. I like to use lavender, but it can be mixed with various essential oils like sweet orange, peppermint, or floral varieties.

I’m wondering if I could use a little colloidal silver instead of buying the preservative as it is antibacterial and antiviral? Thoughts??
