How To Make Peppermint Sugar Scrub

Get some peppermint essential oil, take the coconut oil down from the cupboard, pull the sugar out of the pantry and stir up this amazing sugar scrub. Your skin will thank you!

The whole process of making your own body scrub is fairly simple and straightforward. Combine together sugar (white, granulated) and botanicals (if you use), place into a food processor, and blend until combined and the botanical will be dispersed.

Next, prepare the oil phase. Choose your carrier oil, and mix with essential oils, and vitamin E into a jar or a small mixing bowl. Stir to combine.

Mix the sugar scrub. Pour the oils over the sugar and combine.

Store the sugar scrub. Transfer the sugar scrub into airtight glass jars or storage containers and store sealed until ready to use.

This is a great DIY holiday gift, too; it’s easy to make and package up in a cute little jar with some ribbon.

I suggest playing around with the ingredients until you find the scent and texture of your liking. I like a less oily scrub, but you could easily increase the almond oil for a thinner scrub texture. Also, adjust the pumpkin spice and cinnamon by a tsp or two if you prefer a stronger scent.

As such, you can store yours for about six months. You won’t believe how easy this is to make!

What You’ll Need For This DIY Scrub

Cute jars – These 4 oz/120 ml cosmetic jars are perfect for packaging these easy homemade skin care recipes for gifting and storage.

Bakers Twine – To dress them up for holiday gift-giving!

Gift tags – Use these cute gift tags with twine included!

Peppermint Oil – Peppermint essential oil is a wonderful Christmas sugar scrub essential oil and creates a wonderful all-natural candy cane fragrance.

Coconut Oil – I prefer to use organic coconut oil (the soft, slightly solid kind) because it contains the therapeutic benefits you’re looking for in a scrub. Those benefits include reducing inflammation and keeping skin moisturized.

Also, it contains antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria.

Beetroot powder(optional) – I used beetroot powder to naturally color the sugar scrub recipe and candy cane body butter. Alternatively, use mica powder or food coloring or leave the homemade bath products uncolored.
